    HEPA-AIRE® H1990LV Variable Speed

    Overview

    A high-performance, portable negative-air machine for abatement, healthcare construction, and critical-environment work. The H1990LV pairs a rugged 20-ga galvanized steel cabinet with true HEPA filtration and variable-speed airflow to help you establish negative, positive, or recirculation modes on site. Rated up to 600–1,800 CFM with clean filters, it runs on a standard 120 V / 15 A circuit and includes a tested 99.97% @ 0.3 µm HEPA filter. 

    Features

    • Variable speed, high output: 1 HP motor; 600–1,800 CFM (with clean filters). 

    • True HEPA final stage: Certified 99.97% efficiency @ 0.3 µm (P/N H1910M). 

    • Durable, job-site build: 20-ga galvanized steel cabinet; two fixed casters + two locking 4" swivel casters; side lift handles. 

    • Easy service access: Hinged/drop-in prefilter access door; filter-change indicator. 

    • 12" ducting ready: 12" outlet collar; optional H1980P molded inlet manifold accepts 12" flex duct. 

    • NRTL safety certification: Independently tested to UL/CAN-CSA standards by TÜV SÜD.

    • Ducting: 12" outlet collar; optional H1980P inlet adapter (12"). 

    Installation (setup & use)

    1. Position the unit near the work area on a level surface; lock the swivel casters. 

    2. Select mode:

      • Negative pressure: Place inside containment and exhaust through 12" flex duct to a safe location; or place outside and duct from the inlet (H1980P adapter) into containment. Aim for exhaust volume ≥ the greater of +10% or +100 CFM over the inflow. 

      • Recirculation: Return filtered air to the same room to reduce airborne particulates. 

      • Positive pressure: Supply filtered air into a protected area per project requirements. 

    3. Electrical: Use a dedicated 120 V / 15 A circuit. If an extension cord is required, use UL-listed 12/3 AWG SJTW, total length ≤ 50 ft. 

    4. Filter check: Confirm the prefilter and HEPA are seated; replace if the indicator lamp shows a change is due. 

    5. Run & verify: Start the unit, set speed as needed, and (for pressure control) monitor differential pressure with a calibrated gauge.

    Important Details

    • Safety & use: Indoor use; not intrinsically safe—do not use in explosive/IDLH atmospheres or with hazardous vapors. Avoid solid-state external speed controls. Automatic-restart feature after power interruption. 

    • Air changes planning: Typical target is ≥ 6 ACH for construction areas; consider a 25–75% safety factor to account for filter loading and site losses. 

    • Performance notes: Published airflow is with clean filters and ideal test setup; duct length/bends, voltage drop, and filter loading reduce CFM. 

    Warranty

    1-year limited warranty to the original user against defects in materials/workmanship (filters and normal consumables excluded). Use of non-Abatement parts/filters can void performance claims and warranty. For service, contact Abatement Technologies.


    Spec discrepancies to note: The latest cut sheet lists normal operating current ≤ 8 A, while the manual page lists ≤ 12 A. If amperage draw matters for your jobsite power plan, verify with your distributor before ordering.
